GPS Familiarisation course
Our GNSS (GPS) Familiarisation briefing is designed to give students and experienced pilots alike a detailed understanding of Global Navigation Satellite Systems, how they work, their limitations and the threats and errors applicable to their use.
GPS navigation is an inherent part of the aviation world, with an understanding of these systems now embedded in all licence levels, from RPL through to ATPL.
The content derived from the core aviation syllabus is fairly general in nature - our briefing will take you further and help to make you a competent safe pilot.
Topics covered:
- GPS Design and Principles of Operation
- GPS errors and limitations
- Navigation performance requirements
- Authorisation and documentation
- Types of GPS
- Overcoming the limitations of GPS
- GPS Navigation Tolerances
- Human factors and GNSS
Briefing cost: $75 per person
Duration: 1-2 hrs
NOTE: It is highly recommended that you book in for a one-on-one simulator session after the briefing to cement the theory learned with practical application in flight.
We will offer a 20% discount on the sim session for anyone who wishes to book their session on the day.
We will be using our newly renovated classroom so we have plenty of places available.
We hope to see you there!
